| Bio: | name: James Potter. age: Nineteen (circa 1979). personality: Remembered in his early years at Hogwarts as a mischievous troublemaker, James eventually grew out of his less-savory attributes and toned down his arrogance. He has natural leadership abilities which made him a perfect candidate for Quidditch captain, but at one point lacked the restraint for more broad leadership roles, such as prefect. However, his natural inclination to do the right thing (often confused with 'playing the hero') honed his personality during his last years at Hogwarts. He's more responsible than one would initially think, and has a kind heart. He detests anyone who attributes their success to pure blood or copious amounts of gold. James has both, and doesn't let either define him. James has always been an extremely loyal friend to Sirius, Remus, and Peter. Becoming an Animagus to aid Remus in his transformations took no thought whatsoever, and when Sirius appeared on his doorstep the summer before their seventh year at Hogwarts, James happily gave up half of his bedroom. James is without a doubt cocky and has more wit than a nineteen-year-old should be allotted. He thrives in competition, whether it be in a battle of wits or wands. While he may have a considerable amount of trouble holding his tongue, for the most part James is mild-mannered and good-natured. His temper is not easily flared (with the obvious exception of Severus Snape), and James can be looked upon, more often than not, as a credible voice of reason. His level-headed approach at diffusing sticky situations has come in handy for both himself and his fellow Marauders. James' temper, however, once ignited, is furiously callous. He is not incapable of cruelty, what with his run-ins with Severus. Regardless, he is learning to hone and better assess this mean streak as part of the process of growing up. Really, he can't be expected to be hexing Severus upside down at fifty, now can he? | |||||||||
